Introducing G-Tex:

The Next Generation of Geotextile Reinforcement

The need for industrial geotextiles has increased and continues to trend upward, leading James Dewhurst to work towards developing new ways to enhance geotextiles. G-Tex, our innovative new product, is a fast and cost-effective reinforcement solution that can be applied to a variety of projects. Our new G-Tex department has been specifically created to be able to manufacture a large amount of strong, high-tensile scrims using a high-speed process.

We are always looking for new development partners who wish to explore our product range and create something new together. Your geotextiles project is important to us, and it’s our aim to establish a solid connection with you and your team in order to achieve a high-quality result. Our scrims can find their use in a number of applications. Below are some of the main projects we undertake that involve the use of geotextiles. If you see something below that sounds similar to your project, don’t hesitate to contact us – we’ll help you to bring your idea to life.

Soil Stabilisation

G-Tex can be used in conjunction with geotextiles to prevent soil erosion and to keep soil in place for early crop production. Typically, the scrims we use for these applications are long-life products, created to withstand the elements for a prolonged period of time. These scrims are quite open constructions using very high tenacity yarns to provide an effective retention over large areas. Our wide format capability, which gives the opportunity to cover large areas quickly and efficiently, is ideally suited to your soil stabilisation project.

Pond/Pool Liners

G-Tex scrims may be applied to pond and pool liners in a two-step process. First an open scrim produced with high tenacity yarns is developed. Second, the scrim undergoes the lamination process. The resulting product is a tough, durable, puncture-proof material. G-Tex is developed to be resistant to capillary action of water, so that the scrims actively prevent water ingress into the laminate to prevent blistering. Our knowledge and experience of coating chemistry ensures that our products perform to the highest standards needed for your project.

Mining

Nonwoven geotextiles such as G-Tex are often used to assist in filtration and drainage of geotechnical engineering works. Aside from controlling the flow of water, combining your geotextiles with G-Tex can influence the stability conditions of your engineering projects. Our innovative and custom-built scrims can also be used in civil applications to remove moisture or fine particles from the system. Our unique design techniques can be applied to many of your mining projects – just ask!

Surface Preparation

Our G-Tex scrims can be used in a number of road construction projects as separation components. G-Tex is robust, filter-stable, and highly puncture-resistant, making it a great reinforcement choice. Its high tensile strength and high elongation properties also contribute to its effectiveness. If you require a drainage path to be created, our laid scrims can be used to protect your roads from water damage. These are just a few examples – James Dewhurst’s state-of-the-art weaving techniques are bound to open up new avenues in terms of completing your surface preparation project.
