Automotive and Transport

James Dewhurst have a selection of scrims currently used to create seating, trim and tape applications for automotive and transport textiles. Reinforcement and trim products can be dyed to whatever colour you require, and if additional properties, such as fire resistance are required, this can also be designed into the product.

Seating

Reinforcement scrims are used between the foam seat pads to prevent the seat collapsing after prolonged use. The scrims that James Dewhurst provide are close construction using a high tenacity yarn. The roll of scrim is then cut into standard shapes which are used in the seat making process. The seat base is formed through the scrim interstices (holes in the scrim) to ensure that the scrim is fully integrated into the seat pad.

Trim/Linings

Close woven fabrics are used as a facing material on many trim parts, including dashboard components, parcel trays and headlinings. The tactile feel of cloth improves the aesthetics of vehicle interiors, providing a high quality finish. At James Dewhurst, we have a wealth of experience ensuring that the fabrics used have the visual appearance and colour consistency required for high quality automotive finishes. Our high production capacity
makes James Dewhurst an ideal partner for high
volume applications.
